QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Someone is harassing me in-world. What can I do?
Contact an Admin in world (See Contacts). Be sure to keep chat logs, etc., and any proof that may help. If the problem takes place OUTSIDE of Stormy Valley, contact Linden Labs help and issue a complaint/report against the offender.
I paid for (X amount of time at) a Motel Room but didn't use it. Can I get a refund?
Simple answer; no. Why? As realism is encouraged, approach the Sim and all rentals to be based on how such a transaction operates in reality.
Can I reserve a House/Motel Room?
Unfortunately, no. At present, rentals are on a first come, first served basis.
I wish to change jobs, how do I go about that?
If you are currently employed in a position and would like to change to another, providing there is no over-abundance of other employees, (for example a surplus of police officers) then you are free to apply. Job applications at present are as simple as contacting the Mayor in-world or via Note Card, or if there are managers where you wish to work, apply to them. If there are too many people already positioned you may have to wait. Again, though expertise is not needed, some basic knowledge (or research) is expected. While everyone has the right to change jobs, continual job-hopping is not encouraged.
I rezzed my baby in the Daycare Center/elsewhere on the Sim and now it's gone.
What do I do?
As stated in the rules and information, rezzing your child in world is done at your own risk. That said, MOST creators of prim-babies and prim-children will have a 'return' system that allows you to find or replace your child for free. You are allowed to leave your child rezzed within your own rental property, but if you leave your prim child rezzed at the Daycare Center or anywhere else in the Sim while you are not logged in, they will be returned to you. While crashing cannot be helped, you should attempt to log back in as soon as possible to ensure your child is either returned to your rental property or taken back into your inventory. Though we will do our best to ensure it doesn't happen, Stormy Valley staff are not responsible for lost prim-babies and prim-children should this occur.
Do I earn real Lindens for dancing at Club Red?
Technically yes, but that is only if there are other people there watching who voluntarily "donate" to the tip jar while you are on stage. The Strip Pole is scripted allowing whoever is currently dancing to be shown on the tip-jar display. Donators touch this panel at the foot of the stage to pay you. Whatever you earn, you keep. Simple.
I want to hold a party at the Community Hall, how do I go about that?
This benefit is only available to actively renting residents of Stormy Valley (not past residents). The event can be a public or private occasion and decorations are free, which means they are NOT counted towards your rental prim count (maximum prim limit no more than 50 prims). You choose to decorate or it can be done for you free of charge. Contact the Mayor with your details via Note-Card, and allow at least 48 hours before the event is due to take place to set up.
The Sheriff/his officers arrested me. Do I really have to serve time behind bars?
In Stormy Valley, the Sheriff has final say on how justice is meted out. The Mayor MAY intervene from time to time if applicable, but generally speaking, she will not. The Sheriff and his men/women are there to enforce the laws and make their community "safer". Their definition of safe depends highly on the officer on duty. The Sheriff DOES encourage perpetrators to spend some time behind bars or doing Community Service around town as punishment. Most will be implied, such as picking up trash, but some can be played out/animated in-world. As Stormy Valley is small and for the most part isolated, there is no court of appeals. The Law equals Judge, Jury, and Executioner, all in one.
When is the "best" time to be in-world (in Stormy Valley)?
Believe it or not, this was an actual question I was asked in-world. The enquirer was after one thing in particular (apparently oblivious to the Sim rules, or even role-play context). I'll leave you to decide exactly what that was. Anyway, to humor him, and to give all a general idea; Europe = 5:30am+ SLT, America = 9:00am+ SLT, Australia = 4:00pm+ SLT. This is when citizens of certain countries appear more active online. I could be wrong, but this is from casual observation. It's worth noting that as Stormy Valley Mayor, I am often online at odd and differing times. My timezone is AEST (Australia). I am most happy to role-play in-character in-world at most times, day or night, so long as I am not busy elsewhere and a sense of realism in your storyline is maintained.
I have other questions or suggestions regarding the Sim and/or Role-play, what can I do?
Again, feel free to contact the Admin/Mayor as shown on top of page. Drag/drop a Note Card into the red mail box located just outside the Mayor's office in the Community Hall, or send a Note Card in-world, and allow 24 hours for a reply. If you do not hear back within this time, please resend. Thank you.
